There were a few random downpours this afternoon. They were rather heavy. I wanted to try to capture the just rained on, covered in water droplets look that everything gets when it rains. It makes the world look fresh and renewed to me. The top two photos were taken with my Nikon DSLR in my backyard and it taught me that the lens I have on there right now really does not like to take telephoto pictures. The bottom is with my usual Sony Cybershot that I'm very comfortable with.

May 28
Playing with oil pastels. The colors are a bit skewed because I couldn't be bother to get the other light. Overall, I'm OK with how the flower turned out, the background is another story. My reference picture had everything green and blurry in the background. While it makes the flower stand out more, I'm not entirely happy with how the background looks.

May 27
I think the most annoying part of working on an afghan is spending a lot of time for not a lot of progress. I worked on this fir a good while and only managed to add two rows. It's still crocheting up beautifully though.

May 26
Photo hunting in my Grandmother's backyard. My favorites are the photo of Kitty and the Lilly of the Valley.
May 24
.Went looking for photos today, but nothing really struck my fancy until I saw these at the beach. Poor things got left behind and the winds too care of the rest.
May 23
First pot holder in a while. I was kind of tired and the loom was being anything but cooperative. There was a lot of effort involved in getting this finished off. At one point I honestly thought I'd have to stop and start all over again.
May 22
Playing with paint. Had no idea what to paint when I started and this is what came out. Looks about as messy as I've been feeling lately.
May 21
I haven't worked on this in a while, and it took a bit to get used to the different needles again. I've been working on the wrist warmers for a while now and those are on double pointed needles. This is being knit on circular needles.
May 19
Another rushed sketch sadly. I have entirely too much going on right now and I'm really starting to get annoyed with how much it's cutting into my creativity.
May 17
The shape is not bad, but the proportion on the bottom is off. It shouldn't be quite that tall. Makes it look really odd to me.
May 16
Stapler. It was on my desk from being used earlier and I didn't know what else to draw so here it is.
May 15
Cupcake time! Not too bad. The frosting was the hardest bit. I'm not completely happy with it on account of the frosting. I couldn't get the shape or the texture right. I tried to cover that up with a cherry, but clearly that didn't work that well either.
May 14
Acrylic on a 5 X 7 canvas. The trees didn't turn out quite how I wanted. Shows it's been far too long since I've painted.
May 13
My first time painting on a real canvas. It does happen to be 4 X 4, so this is is also the smallest painting I've ever made. Not too bad. The paint seems to take longer to dry on canvas so it creates extra problems for layering paint. I may actually have to get patient and wait for layers to dry before continuing. Then again I could always try a hair dryer.
May 12
I finally rearranged everything in the studio. I think it's all where I want it. It's a fabulous space that I've already used more than I ever used the office.
May 11
Cleaned the lens and left the battery out over night. Thankfully, the camera seems to be behaving itself again. In case you haven;t noticed I'm a bit of a flower nut. I'm sure there's more flower photos to come.
May 10
Still having grumpy camera issues. They seem fine until I review them later. Time to examine and hopefully sort out.
May 9
Bad hastily drawn sketch of my water bottle. I was very short on time so it's definitely not the best I've done.
May 8
I'm pretty much done with the wrist portion. Dropping the stitches and making the thumb is complicated, but not as bad as the initial starting off point when you split the stitches between the needles.
May 7
I tried to take a bunch of flower photos today, but my camera was having some sort of temper tantrum and refused to completely focus so sadly this is the only one that came out.
May 6
I'm rather proud of this one. It took quite a while with all the veining. The shading is not bad, but could still use a bit of work.
May 5
A daisy sketch based on an Internet photo I found. It's not horrible, but the flower itself didn't come out quite right.

May 3
I took a mosaic workshops tonight. I was really struggling with what to make when it came to it. I came up with this and I keep going back and forth over whether I like it or not. Most days I do, some days I wish I had not done a word. Although, I did get credit from one of the mosaic artists there because apparently words are very difficult to do in mosaics. I can attest to that. I, however, thought that was just inexperience on my part.
May 2
More flowers. This time near home. I'm actually glad we've had a mild spring. Usually what happens is the trees flowers, we get one big storm, and all the flowers trees get, well, deflowered.
May 1
Walking around near work I found these beauties. There are so many flowers blooming right now. I love taking pictures of them.
April 30
More progress. The seams along where the sticks are are a little more prominent than I would like them to be. I'll have to see what I can do about that without tightening everything on the needles.
